You don’t have to twist my arm to eat grilled food! This is a cookbook and reference for health minded folks or someone who wants to make a change in their diet. There are 175 recipes in this heart healthy cookbook. Lots of great ideas for simple meals cooked with low fat but delivering on a tasty nutritious meal.
There is nutritional information listed for every recipe which I find helpful. You won’t find fried food in this cookbook. Meals are prepared by low cooking, blending, stir frying, grilling (my favorite), braising, stewing, steaming, poaching, baking and broiling.
Some examples of recipes:
Madeira Flank Steak
Chicken Cacciatore with Pasta
Minted Pea Soup with Yogurt Swirl,
Shrimp and Grits with Greens
Thai-Style Chicken Potstickers
Sweet and Tangy Scallops
Sirloin Steak with Creamy Horseradish Sauce
Pork Tenderloin Stuffed with Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomatoes
Now isn’t your mouth watering? I can’t wait to make the peach crisp for dessert and hope to try the shrimp and grits this week. Maybe if I cook exclusively from this book for a month my cholesterol will go down a bit. You never know!
